Two Poems

Anagramist’s Song

Notes, stone.

A spider, despair.

Garden?

Danger.

Eucharist?

Ah curse it!

Desperation—

a rope ends it.

Palindromist’s Song

Was it a rat I saw?

Was it a car or a cat I saw?

Was it a bat I saw?

I did. Did I?

God! A wasp saw a dog.

Oh who was it I saw? Oh, who.
