J. T. Barbarese’s recent books were a volume of poems (True Does Nothing), versions of poems by Jacques Prévert (After Prévert), and a collection of essays on American literature (Inventions on the Brink). His memoir on working-class life, Paycheck to Paycheck, will be published in November by Unbound Edition. He died after a long illness in March 2026.
