One of the most important professional societies for me is the Society of Christian Ethics, which is meeting this week in San Jose, California. One of the fruits of the broader, ecumenical conversations that took place after the Second Vatican Council was the participation of Catholics in this meeting, which was originally directed at Protestant seminary professors. Many Catholics have been president of the SCE, or have served in other leadership roles. Meeting alongside it are the Society of Jewish Ethics and the newly formed Society of Muslim Ethics. Here's a link to the program, if anyone wants to poke around.
