So, who's making New Year's resolutions this year? Any thoughts on the practice in general? As a virtue ethicist, I'm interested in all the ways people take the opportunity for self-examination and changes of practice, even (and perhaps especially) in fairly small matters. Small things do add up, if only as a habit of making small improvements! What are your past successes with resolutions?And--for the brave--what are your resolutions this year? Careful now--once you put them here, you'll be more accountable than for resolutions kept in pectore. However, perhaps you can also count on the support of those of us on the blog for (good) resolutions noted here. And I resolve, among other things, that I won't page back next year and ask folks how they did with resolutions mentioned here...
