While we're talking about books, here's a question on which the fate of the universe hangs: Should notes be placed: (a) at the foot of a page; (b) at the end of a chapter; (c) at the end of the book?I am all for (a). In fact, I think it's de iure divino, but unfortunately many publishers appear to disagree. I love footnotes, and want them readily accessible.
