Rocco Palmo at Whispers in the Loggia has been assiduously tracking the signals about a soon-to-be-announced (?) successor to Cardinal Edward Egan as Archbishop of New York.Certain whispers seem to point in the direction of Timothy Dolan, former rector of Rome's North American College, currently Archbishop of Milwaukee.Rocco helpfully provides a paper and audio trail. I found particularly interesting this audio of a question and answer session at theMarquette University Law School: http://media.law.marquette.edu/events/dolan.mp3Whatever the outcome, Archbishop Dolan will remain an important and impressive voice in the Church in the United States.Update: Here is an article by Archbishop Dolan from the Feb. 27 issue of Commonweal.
