Remember that unintentionally funny Sharron Angle ad I mentioned last week? In case you were wondering where you'd seen those menacing Latinos before, Think Progress is on the case: It turns out Louisiana Republican David Vitter managed to capture the same scary-looking Hispanics Angle's people did--on film, of course. (H/T Chait.)In other lame-GOP-ad news (again, via Chait): "We are going for a 'hicky' blue-collar look," read the casting call for a political ad aired by the National Republican Senatorial Committee. As Mike Allen of Politico reports, the scripted spot, intended to criticize West Virginia Democrat Gov. Joe Manchin, was filmed in Philly with actors (of course). These characters are from West Virginia so think coal miner/trucker looks. What do "hicky" types wear, anyway?

Clothing Suggestions included jeans, work boots, flannel shirt, denim shirt, Dickies type jacket with t-shirt underneath, down-filled vest, John Deer [sic] hats (not brand new, preferably beat up), trucker hats (not brand new, preferably beat up). No Thin Stripes.

Good call on the stripes. Thin ones are so metro. Hey, at least they didn't ask for actors with "limited orthodontia," right?
