V-Day strikes again. According to the Catholic News Agency and other outlets, ameeting of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Doctrine is moving off the Notre Dame campus because students are planning to present a performance of “The Vagina Monologues” on university grounds, perhaps this week. (Valentine’s Day is something of a VM tradition.) I know we have posters and commenters here from ND. Perhaps they can shed light on the issue. As an outsider, the scenario strikes me as odd and unfortunate—that bishops don’t feel comfortable at Notre Dame, of all places, and must decamp to a monastery. I think the reaction againstthe VM is overdone. But I also know this must be a difficult issue for the ND community.
