The Vatican has apparently canceled a papal visit to Rome's Sapienza University because of protests by faculty and students at the university over Benedicts views of science. Apparently, members of the faculty wrote a letter in which they claimed "this pope has always had a closed, even hostile, attitude toward science." This claim seems unjustified to me, but I wonder what others think about it.The CNS story is here.
