With apologies for the short notice: Commonweal readers in the New York area might be interested in the current exhibit at the Museum of Biblical Art (Broadway & 61st). A collection of Ludwig Blum's (1891-1974) paintings of Jerusalem and its environs is on display through this weekend. Tonight at 6:30 PM there will be a panel discussion among three scholars, who will speak about Jerusalem's role as a sacred city and symbol for the three Abrahamic religions. I'll be speaking there, but mostly I'll be learning from Adriane Leveen (Hebrew Union College) and Ahmed Al-Rahim (University of Virginia). Event is free and includes museum admission. (And don't forget your umbrella!)
