As we go through the health care reform debate, it's worth stepping back for a minute and taking a look at the big picture. Why is health care reform important? What should we care about?Bishop Murphy's letter on evaluating health care proposals is both comprehensive and concise. In reviewing the various materials out there, I found that this longer framework for evaluating comprehensive health care reform issued by the Bishops' Conference in 1993 (at the time of the last major push for reform) continues to be extremely helpful.
