Leslie Tentler's take on Catholics and single-issue politics --from the perspective of 1919. [1]For those who haven't read her book on American Catholics and contraception, I highly recommend it. It talks, among other things, about the bishops' fight to keep contraception illegal in the early-to-mid 20th century.
Cathleen Kaveny is the Darald and Juliet Libby Professor in the Theology Department and Law School at Boston College.
