A fraternal visitation from Francis to Benedict: here.
Christmas is brewing here in Venice -- a morning at the Marciana made me feel again the immense weight of history around this proud city -- now in Campo dei Frari, having seen l'Assunzione again and meditated on the tombs of Monteverdi, Titian, Canova. Buon Natale!
The least historically-probable Christmas party I've ever seen.
