You who sit upon the Cherubim (Ps 79[80], 2). The Cherubim are the throne of Gods glory, and the word means Fullness of knowledge. God sits there in the fullness of knowledge. Although we understand the Cherubim to be sublime powers and virtues in the heavens, still, if you wish, you will be a Cherub. For if the Cherubim are the throne of God, listen to what Scripture says: The soul of a just person is a throne of wisdom (Text not found). How, you ask, shall I be the fullness of knowledge? Who fulfills that claim? You have the ability to fulfill it: The fulfilment of the Law is charity (Rm 13:10). Dont go running around, extending yourself here and there. The spread of the branches frightens you. Take hold of the root and dont think about the size of the tree. Let there be charity in you, and the fullness of knowledge must follow.
