Commonweal is alive and thriving at age 87, no mean achievement for any magazine. It has been possible in large part because of the generosity of Commonweal Associates.
Commonweal operates as a nonprofit foundation, and while the magazine covers a significant majority of its budget each year through circulation and advertising, we rely on the loyalty of our extended family of readers and supporters to close the inevitable gap between income and expenses. In addition, contributions from Associates are funding new initiatives to develop future readers, increase editorial resources, and develop a stronger Web presence.
For more details on how Associates contributions can help Commonweal grow even stronger, please review our most recent Associates brochure.
As an Associate, you’ll receive a copy of our three-times-a-year newsletter, with an inside look at the goings-on at the magazine. (To see a sample issue, click here.) In addition, each year we’ll thank you officially in the pages of Commonweal, when we list the more than 2,000 donors who make our continued existence possible.
We invite you to join them by filling out the form below. Remember, your gift is fully tax-deductible. If you have any questions about the Associates program, please contact Christa Kerber.

Matching Gifts: Many companies support the charitable giving of their employees through matching gift programs — some firms even double or triple the amount of their employees’ gifts. When you make a donation to Commonweal, please check with your employer’s HR department to see if such a program is available. If so, your employer will provide you with a form that you will fill out and forward to Commonweal; that form will enable us to apply for the matching donation with no further action on your part.
