A few weeks back, dotCommonweal contributor Paul Lauritzen generously offered to helm an experiment in podcasting for the site. His first effort is an interview with Fr. Donald Cozzens, author of Freeing Celibacy. The interview focuses on the sexual-abuse scandals–including due process for accused priests–and other happy subjects. Good job Paul. Cozzens is truly a prophet of our time. He is true and on target. Feudal society it is which really militates against women who are the necessary ingredients for feudalism. Failure to protect children turn into a failure to protect innocent priests. The institution must survive and Macchiavelli supersedes St. Paul.
