What’s (really) being built at “Ground Zero”

The New York Times has a detailed look at the progress and the plans for the World Trade Center site. It was true for a long time — too long — that nothing much was getting done. But it’s not true anymore.
More details about the project, if you’re curious, at the Port Authority’s “WTC progress” Web site and the National September 11 Memorial Web site.
Among the many other poignant memories of that site it’s sad to recall how the original World Trade Center featured so many Islamic architectural elements.

Good thing Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is trying to “build bridges”. Scary to think how much hatred he could stir up if he was TRYING to.
Is Rauf the only one obliged to build bridges?
CNN online has a great post today about two young Muslims on a month long Ramadan roadtrip all around the country (30 mosques in 30 days); they talk about what a positive experience it was.
