You could read Michael Buckley’s brilliant book, The Origins of Modern Atheism today. Or you could just watch this video clip, and take a nice walk in the spring air, vowing to read Father Buckley next week. It’s Friday, after all. And it’s spring.

It must be a generational thing.
Joe, I think people of all generations appreciate Father Buckley’s work!
Okay, I’m teasing. But it is Friday.
Deo gratias.
I was sitting in a friend’s room watching this, and for once I think it was difficult to distinguish between Colbert the character and Colbert the person. A very good clip.
I have never heard of this book. Should I have? Amazon has some dealers that offer it for about $69. Is it worth it.
I think it’s a very fine book– very helpful, especially since there’s a resurgence of interest in atheism in popular discussion. But $69 is a lot of money; maybe you can borrow it from the library.
