As Andrew Sullivan has noted, Senator Patrick Leahy (D.-Vermont) has had quite enough of Attorney General Gonzales’s dismissive answers in Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on detainee policy. Here’s the video from the CBC (CNN’s account curiously edited some of the better moments).

Andrew also pointed out the following exchange between Senators Specter and Leahy and the attorney general on the subject of habeas corpus, which demonstrates, yet again, just how far down the rabbit hole the Bush administration has gone.
