  1. Today’s homilist explained that he was wearing “pink” vestments, actually saying “pink” twice, as if he were looking out at eyes goggled in disbelief.

  2. Where I attended Mass today the celebrant wore purple vestments. At the beginning of the homily he explained that if they had a proper rose colored vestment he would have worn it, but the the vestments available to him were pink and orange. This is the first time I ever heard a homilist “dis” vestments.

  3. Christina, your pastor sounds as if he were asked to wear a rainbow colored cope. Perhaps he ought to look to Rome for inspiration, where the church’s top fashion plate has no qualms about pink!

  4. As I said above, we lit the third candle on the Advent wreath, and it was rose; guess it’s easier to do in wax than in vestments.

  5. One of the priests at the parish I have been a member of for over a decade aways disses “pink” at this time of year.

Everyone has their eccentricities. His also include singing during homilies and reviewing plays, movies and anything else he find relevant. I love him.

  6. Mr. Kuebbing–

I wouldn’t call your pastor eccentric, unless you call Jesus eccentric too. He told parables and commented on them.
