Today’s homilist explained that he was wearing “pink” vestments, actually saying “pink” twice, as if he were looking out at eyes goggled in disbelief.
Where I attended Mass today the celebrant wore purple vestments. At the beginning of the homily he explained that if they had a proper rose colored vestment he would have worn it, but the the vestments available to him were pink and orange. This is the first time I ever heard a homilist “dis” vestments.
Christina, your pastor sounds as if he were asked to wear a rainbow colored cope. Perhaps he ought to look to Rome for inspiration, where the church’s top fashion plate has no qualms about pink!
