Colbert Report on the Anglicans

Posted by Cathleen Kaveny

If Maureen Dowd’s column –syndicated as it is– reaches the average Joe and Jane, then Stephen Colbert reaches, well, younger- than- average Joe and Jane.

This isn’t just the show, folks –this is also youtube.

  1. The Jon Stewart version is even more ecumenical:

  2. Priceless. Those who disparage ECUSA often refer to its dwindling numbers. Yet they fail to see that Europe has abandoned Rome and while the church is certainly growing it is flourishing in areas where they have their own vibrancy and understand the power of the Spirit. It is very deceiving to entertain that this is some great coup by Rome. Negative terms indeed.

  3. “instead of joining the Catholic Church where there are no gay priests” — the funniest moment!

  4. “Yet they fail to see that Europe has abandoned Rome…”

Europe has abandoned Christianity in general.

Well – save for Poland, by and large.

Colbert’s material was even sharper than usual this time ’round.
