I’m giving the Natural Law Lecture next Thursday, at Fordham ‘s Manhattan campus. If you’re not busy, come by! (You can DVR 30 Rock and The Mentalist –as I will be doing!)
The general idea of my talk is how the common law — case law –can help us bridge the gap between virtue theory and rights talk.
And of course, October 19 is the Commonweal Awards dinner!
October in Manhattan! What a treat!

I trust Thomas did not write his Summa with that hand writing. Wow. Cathy, I will bring a couple of members of the Cardinal Newman Society for your entertainment.
I can’t believe that not one of the illustrious contributors mentioned the sensational news that Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize. The reasons they gave are a substantial reason for why many of us supported him. It is also a statement to those one issue people who seem to value war, whether cultural or not, over peace. This country can indeed stand proud again as it not only leads other nations but respects them . Which is an essential quality of leadership, nez paux?
GREAT topic! When/how will this be published?
