  1. Better that Colin Powel would have quit; that would have had a real effect. Notice Armitage’s excuse: things could have been worse. Really?

  2. Very rare is that person who would have acted differently than Armitage. How many have the courage to sacrifice their job and standing in the community to object. Colin Powell ducked in shame after the High Priests sacrificed him before the UN. Cardinal Law resigned when there was no other option. The American bishops admitted guilt when the courts found them guilty. The Catholic church still claims complete innocence with reference to the Holocaust which happened on its watch and was the Culture of Death par excellence.

    This has many applications and implications. Are we willing to take responsibility for them?

  3. Or, maybe he should have had the decency to be honest to the world, when others were being falsely accused, that HE was the one to leak Valerie Plame’s name?
