   It is about time that the Catholic hierarchy comes out and reminds the American people (and Catholics in particular) that being Muslim and/or Arab is just as “American” as being Catholic and/or Irish/Italian/Polish/etc.

   I wonder, however, how many of the hierarchy actually believe that?

   I saw this elsewhere too… It really makes me shake my head.

   As for the Catholic hierarchy reminding us of racism as sin, we had a great Faithful Citizenship forum at our parish and our bishop reminded us of more than one issue to consider. Racism was on his clear list of things to be aware of.

   I know – one bishop a hierarchy does not make.

   Although I have no cause to disuade anyone from calling for the bishops to speak out against racism, I don’t recall the bigoted couple in this video professing to be Catholic. I don’t get the connection.

   As I posted earlier, I was heartened by the Muslim delagate for McCain, another Muslim supporter, and a conservative Christian supporter for McCain denounce this couple. It seemed that they were more anti-Obama rather than pro-McCain.

   In the end, they walked off, knowing that they weren’t welcome.
