The new issue is now live, featuring a remembrance of Dorothy Day by Patrick Jordan, and a look at the life of “Catholic Muslim” Louis Massignon. Plus E.J. Dionne Jr. on the myth of American decline, and Jack Calhoun on lessons learned from picketing a gun show.
Patrick Jordan paints a terrific portrait of Dorothy Day. In some ways, diakonia can be very simple – one simply serves where one sees the need for service. (Our failure to do something so simple and straightforward may be something for which we’ll have to answer some day). The simplicity and directness of Dorothy are very thought-provoking.
