Today is the anniversary of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride

In the name of love
One more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love?”

  1. Ms. Fullam, thanks for posting this. It’s always good to remember the saints.

  2. It’s worth recalling that MLK was murdered while he was in Memphis to support striking sanitation workers who were fighting to have a union recognized.

It might be lucrative to take bets on when the GOP, aided and abetted by the Other Business Party, will seek to curtail collective bargaining rights for workers in the private sector.

Today, King would be denounced as a socialist. Oh, gee, that’s right, King WAS a socialist.

  3. Thanks Gene for pointing out what was emphasized by Dr. King’s son yesterday.
But in these days of plutocracy, who’s listening?
